XenSource CEO doesn't think Xen is ready for datacenters

CRN interviewed XenSource just before the official launch of XenEnterprise this week. Despite the imminent launch the company's CEO, Peter Levine, has surprisingly been very caution in his statements and refused to clearly declare Xen is ready for datacenter deployment in 2 different answers. This partially backs Red Hat denunciation against Novell during last 2 weeks. Mr. Levine also eluded the question about frequency of Xen code changes in next few months. The Xensource hype machine continues to roll...of course Levine would say this because they product they just released is two years away from being even CLOSE to vmware and is directly competitive to what the Linux distros want to ship. One of these days someone will pull the curtains back and see the xen project for what it is: lost opportunity, great expectations, poor management and and open source shill for a xensource commercial product. Time for someone to fork this project and make it real.
