Phantom CodeArts virtualization firm disappeared

Today, doing my usually "virtualization links check", I discovered CodeArts website disappeard. CodeArts is a (phantom) company claiming more then two years ago a whole product line about virtualization. Many VMware users asked during these years for trial software or opinions on newsgroups and forums, without obtaining anything concrete. This should finally solve any doubt about them. Update: A couple of readers reported that CodeArts has been acquired by HP and their technology has been incorporated in the System Insight Manager (SIM), as confirmed in this document.

I realise that this is a very old post so my apologies but today at HP Technology@Work in Berlin, I've found out what happened to CodeArts!

I was one of many who wondered about the many claims of this company without products and noticed their disappearance.

Well in a session today HP listed then as an acquisition after which a quick Google confirmed. It became HP's Virtual Machine Manager. See press kit release from 2005 at http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2005/ensa/rp_illuminata.pdf

This was not AFAIK a well known event, but a minor riddle sovled.

Regards

Bren
